It will be all about bumps, bottles and bibs for Wellingtonians
with the return of the ASG Parent and Child Show, being
held Westpac Stadium on 6-7 September 2008.
Now in its ninth year, the ASG Parent and Child Show will host
more than 70 exhibitors who will showcase everything from
maternity, antenatal and infant accessories through to nutritional
tips and educational products for babies and young children.
The 2008 Show welcomes a range of new exhibitors including:
Precious Bubba with their stylish Manduca baby carrier; Mustela,
the international skincare specialist for babies and mothers-to-be;
and Buggy Plates, with their funky, personalised buggy accessories.
All-time favourites returning to the event are The Baby Factory,
ASG, Huggies and Plunket.
"The Show covers every baby base and offers a one-stop-shop for
parents experiencing this particularly special phase of life," says
Rebecca Stewart.
Mothers-to-be can explore Womama's extensive range of
contemporary maternity clothing, while Dads-to-be can check out
Mountain Buggy's exciting range of baby wheels.
The 2008 ASG Parent and Child Show offers parenting seminars for
information and support and headlining this year's seminar
programme is Diane Levy-Counsellor, family therapist and author of
a range of best-selling books, including: 'Of course I love
you…now go to your room', 'They look so lovely when
they're asleep', and her latest achievement - 'Time Out
for Tots, Teens and Everyone in Between.'
"Diane is a household name when it comes to the best advice on
raising children and we are thrilled to have her at the Show again
this year," says CEO Dona White. "Her valuable insights, coupled
with her humorous approach, will be greatly entertaining and
informative for visitors to the Show."
Assistant director of the Gifted Education Centre, Sheryl Burns
will lead a seminar entitled 'Is Your Child Gifted'
"There are thousands of unidentified gifted children in New
Zealand," says Sheryl. "My seminar will cover the characteristics
of gifted children and will explore the steps that parents should
take if they think they have a gifted child."
Plunket nurse, Sandy Reid will add to the educational scene with
her seminar 'Breastfeeding - The Early Days and Beyond'; and
owner of NappyDays Kate Meads, will lead a 'Modern Nappy Options'
seminar for parents.
While parents are kept busy with exhibitors and seminars,
children of all ages will be enthralled by a range of activities at
the Show.
All the way from his fully-furnished, two-bedroom pineapple
under the sea, cartoon sensation SpongeBob SquarePants is set to be
the highlight of the entertainment stage. He will be accompanied by
non-stop stage entertainment including dancing, storytelling and
sing-along amusement - perfect to keep the entire family
amused.
So parents prepare! This family-friendly event has something for
everyone and is a must for all family calendars.
