Based in New York City, Magnificent Baby was started by two Emory University college friends, Lauren Levy and Lawrence Scheer, now both new parents with their respective spouses. Before becoming a mum, Lauren had spent a lot of time with her nephew and realised how daunting it was to even get a bib on him. The concept for Magnificent Baby seemed so obvious, yet nothing was available on the market. Lauren, a former commercial real estate analyst, and Lawrence, an attorney, came together to create a product without hair-pulling and skin-irritating hook and loop tabs or cumbersome domes.
“We are so thrilled that moms and dads in New Zealand will have the chance to experience Magnificent Baby, “says co-founder Lauren Levy. “In addition to our Smart Closetm magnetic-fastening system, our collection also features a ‘no pull-over-the-head’ design which is perfect for dressing any wiggly, crying baby.”
Magnificent Baby’s innovative designs have been featured in major US media such as the Today Show, Good Morning America, The New York Times and People Magazine, and also recently in New Zealand’s OHBaby Magazine and Little Treasures Magazine. The collections are the winner of the JPMA Innovation Award and Huggies MomInspired Grant Award.
