Natalie Flynn

Listening to Natalie impart her knowledge on emotional health is uplifting. For more than 20 years Natalie has been working with people with emotional health concerns and has built up a credible career thanks to her practical relatable approach and insightful reassuring manner.

She is a registered clinical psychologist, completing her doctorate in clinical psychology in 2004. Natalie currently works in private practice having previously worked in both the private and public health sectors in New Zealand.

Being a specialist in Maternal Psychology, Natalie has a special interest in the transition to parenthood. A mother herself to three school aged children, she understands first hand the pressures of motherhood. Natalie firmly believes that early intervention can help prevent depression and anxiety. She brought to New Zealand the group based therapy programme, developed by the Parent-Infant Research Institute in Melbourne, Australia, to support new mums with mild to moderate post natal depression.

Natalie recently published a ground breaking book, Smart Mothering: what science says about caring for your baby and yourself.
