MONDAY 27TH JULY 2015
If you’ve got a new baby on the way, you’ve got a lot to organise – but a trip to The Baby Show Auckland will help you get it all sorted. The show gathers everything under one roof so you can achieve what would normally take weeks in a matter of hours.
Now in its 22nd year, The Baby Show has evolved and is now the biggest parenting show of its kind in New Zealand. Whether you’re a first-time parent or a veteran, the show enables you to test out the latest products, find useful services, ask exhibitors questions, get trustworthy advice, and take advantage of special show-only prices.
Everyone attending the show will receive a goodie bag on arrival, filled with discount vouchers and great samples. And you’ll be able to shop like a champion without overfilling your stroller with the new Babies.co.nz Shop & Drop Point, the easy way to temporarily off-load your purchases while you shop for more. Simply make a gold coin donation to our official charity, CureKids, and leave your goodies in our capable hands until you’re ready to hit the road.
Back by popular demand, the Natural Product Zone is a specific area that brings together a range of organic and eco-friendly products. Highlights include healthy products for mum and baby from exhibitors like Artemis and Beelab, and an array of organic foods.
Parents need all the impartial advice they can get – and the Advice Hub is the perfect place to get it. The Advice Hub is where you can get free one-on-one confidential advice from parenting professionals. Service providers include Asthma NZ, Multiple Birth Club, Plunket, SeatSmart, Parent 2 Parent and Altogether Autism, and Immunisation Advisory. What’s more, Playcentre Association is providing a play area to keep the little ones happy while you chat.
If it’s information you’re after, it doesn’t need to stop at the Advice Hub – head to the ASG stand to get guidance on your child’s social and emotional development, as well as financial advice about their education.
Parents can also test out essential skills, such as safely fitting a car seat at the Ford stand. The fastest and safest installers will go in the draw to win the car seat plus a hot lap with V8 SuperTourer Race Team, John McIntyre Racing.
If all of this activity sounds like it warrants another rest, there are plenty more options for downtime. The Entertainment Stage will be hosting Cornflake the Clown and his hilarious gags, as well as country singer Anna Van Riel. Or head to the Jed’s Coffee Rest Area to put your feet up and enjoy an expertly blended cup of coffee.
And be sure to check out one of the many free talks at the Seminar Theatre from a range of parenting experts, including Jaqui and Nat, co authors of ‘If Only They’d Told Me’; midwife and author Kathy Fray; baby sleep consultant Emma Purdue; and many more.
Early-bird tickets online now at www.babyshow.co.nz for $15 plus booking fee – under 12’s are free.
