Kids need two loving and supportive parents in their lives – babies thrive when they get a good bond with mum and dad.
If mum is not close to her family, Dad may be a vital part of pregnancy support and the birth. We want dad to be engaged, encouraged and involved, whether the family all lives under the same roof or not. That may be where we come in.
For all sorts of reasons, dads are often not in the picture. We help dads learn about Discovering Fatherhood, we support and advocate for dads to play an active part in their children’s lives. As well as supporting fathers, we try to educate the broader community and family service providers about the benefits of engaging dads and great fathers being involved with their children.
Our organisation began in Tauranga in 2002 and now offers services in Auckland, across the Bay of Plenty and the greater Wellington region, plus Christchurch. For parenting courses, fun events, to helping with legal advice and mentoring, we’re here to help.
